Our Story
For over a century, our family has grown up among the apple trees, tending orchards in the Orange district.
It all began with Arthur Cantrill, who proudly worked the land to establish fruit trees across the area. During the depression, Joseph John Treweek rode his pushbike from Sydney to Orange, camping along the way in search of work. Picking cherries on local orchards, he met Arthur’s daughter, Patricia and the two fell in love and married.
Joe managed various orchards, till 1947 when they had enough money to purchase their own orchard "Thornbrook".
Today, on this same land and now with the addition "Hillside Harvest" we continue to grow fruit, carrying forward this legacy that has flourished across five generations.
Hillside Harvest
A Family Orchard for Every Season’s Delight
Established for over 75years, Hillside Harvest is a family run orchard in Central West NSW.

Renowned for growing cherries, stonefruit, apples, pears, figs, and berries visitors are welcomed to experience the fun of “Pick Your Own” when in season.

Out of season the orchard can be enjoyed with a tasting, a guided tour, or leisurely stroll. Autumn is full of colour with big, blue skies and leaves a thousand shades of yellow. In Winter, the trees are bare, the air is crisp, and it may even snow. Spring sees the orchard come to life with the ‘Beauty of the Blossoms’.
Browse our farm store for handpicked orchard fruit and seasonal vegetables, local cheeses and smallgoods and an exciting range of regional produce and gift wares.
